Abstract

Description

24 p.
This web annex accompanies the WHO Guidelines for the care and treatment of persons diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C virus infection and provides the summary of findings tables and GRADE evidence profiles that informed the guideline development process. It presents the certainty of evidence and key outcomes from systematic reviews evaluating the impact of sustained virological response on extrahepatic manifestations of chronic hepatitis C, as well as the efficacy and safety of direct-acting antiviral regimens, including glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, daclatasvir/sofosbuvir and sofosbuvir/velpatasvir, across hepatitis C virus genotypes and treatment populations. The annex summarizes evidence using standardized GRADE methodology, reporting outcomes such as sustained virological response, discontinuation due to adverse events, serious adverse events, mortality and other clinically important measures. It also includes evidence relating to the treatment of chronic hepatitis C infection in children and adolescents. Published to support transparency in WHO guideline development, the document provides the detailed evidence assessments underpinning the recommendations in the parent guideline.
