This publication provides comprehensive operational guidance for health workers involved in immunization service delivery. It aims to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of vaccination activities across diverse settings, contributing to the control of vaccine-preventable diseases. As an updated edition of earlier WHO guidance, it responds to evolving programme needs by promoting standardized procedures to ensure safe, high-quality and equitable immunization services, and to strengthen both routine programmes and outreach activities. Structured into thematic modules, the document addresses key components of immunization practice, including diseases and vaccines, cold-chain management, safe injection practices and waste management, microplanning to reach target populations, organization of immunization sessions, and monitoring and surveillance systems.
