This guidance provides recommendations for developing, reviewing and harmonizing pesticide labels in accordance with the International Code of Conduct on Pesticide Management and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Intended primarily for pesticide regulatory and registration authorities, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, it also supports the pesticide industry and other stakeholders involved in preparing or evaluating pesticide labels. The document emphasizes that clear, accurate and comprehensible labels are essential for communicating product identity, safe use instructions and hazard information, thereby contributing to the protection of human health and the environment throughout the pesticide life cycle.
