dc.descriptionThis report summarizes the third meeting of the WHO Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the Global Clinical Platform, held online on 28 March 2025. The meeting reviewed the ongoing development of the WHO Global Clinical Platform, which supports the standardized collection, storage and analysis of clinical data on emerging infectious diseases to strengthen patient care, health systems implementation and public health policy. Discussions focused on strategic priorities for 2025, including expanding data intake through partnerships, improving clinical surveillance tools and enhancing the usability and visibility of dashboards and reporting systems. The report describes updates on platform activities related to mpox, cholera and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI), including support for country-level data collection, integration with digital tools such as DHIS2 and implementation of a pilot SARI surveillance platform across multiple sites. Participants also examined the application of artificial intelligence and large language models for processing and analysing large clinical datasets, including approaches to data cleaning, validation and harmonization. Additional discussions addressed equitable data use, authorship transparency, country engagement and future priorities for scaling and optimizing platform implementation and clinical surveillance activities.
