This meeting report summarizes a World Health Organization consultation held in Nairobi, Kenya, on 1 November 2022 to build consensus on the development and implementation of enhanced tuberculosis (TB) public–private mix (PPM) data dashboards in seven high-priority countries: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and the Philippines. The meeting brought together representatives of national TB programmes, WHO, funding agencies, technical partners and implementing organizations to discuss approaches for strengthening monitoring of private-sector and unengaged public-sector contributions to TB prevention and care. The consultation aimed to establish agreement on core indicators, provider typologies and implementation priorities for standardized PPM dashboards integrated within national digital TB surveillance systems. The report outlines discussions on the rationale for expanding PPM monitoring beyond TB notifications to include indicators covering the full care cascade, the role of case-based digital surveillance systems, and the need for standardized definitions and reporting structures. Participants reviewed a global dashboard prototype, identified additional indicators relevant to country contexts, and emphasized the importance of interoperability, Master Health Facility Lists, accountability mechanisms and multisectoral engagement.
