dc.descriptionA regional meeting on preveting unsafe abortion to reduce maternal mortality was organized in Kathmandu during 17-20 September 2012 to discuss the current global, regional and country situation of abortion services, as well as share and disseminate the updated WHO safe abortion guidelines. Country plans were drafted to promote safe abortion services at this meeting, which will be further refined at the country level to ensure that strategies are adopted and activities carried out to make safe abortion services increasingly avilable in the Member States of WHO South-East Asia Region.
