This document provides a standardized framework for strengthening last-mile logistics management information systems (LMIS) for medicines and health products used in neglected tropical disease (NTD) programmes. Developed by the World Health Organization, it addresses the need for harmonized indicators, reporting mechanisms and data management practices to improve supply chain visibility, transparency, forecasting and accountability at country level. The text focuses on the collection, analysis and interpretation of logistics data generated through health facilities and community-based interventions, particularly in the context of mass drug administration and preventive chemotherapy programmes. The framework outlines core functions of LMIS and electronic LMIS (eLMIS), interoperability with health management information systems, and best practices for inventory control, forecasting, warehousing, transportation, reverse logistics and waste management. It defines essential data elements, key performance indicators and dashboard analytics to support monitoring of stock availability, forecasting accuracy, product quality and asset utilization. Particular attention is given to improving end-to-end visibility of NTD medicine supply chains, strengthening decision-making processes and supporting efficient distribution of donated medicines and health products at national and subnational levels.
