The SCORE for Health Data Technical Package: Essential Interventions provides a framework for strengthening national health information systems and improving countries’ capacity to generate, analyse and use health data for decision-making. Developed by WHO with partner organizations, the guidance identifies a set of priority interventions designed to address critical gaps in health data systems and support monitoring of national health priorities, the Sustainable Development Goals, universal health coverage and health emergency preparedness. The publication emphasizes the importance of timely, reliable and disaggregated data to inform policy, allocate resources effectively and promote equitable health outcomes. The document is organized around five core interventions represented by the SCORE acronym: Survey populations and health risks, Count births, deaths and causes of death, Optimize health service data, Review progress and performance, and Enable data use for policy and action.
