This facilitator guide accompanies the WHO publication Analysis and use of health facility data: guidance for maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health programme managers and provides a structured set of exercises and workshop materials designed to strengthen the capacity of maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (MNCAH) programme managers to analyse, interpret and use routine health information system data. Intended for use in workshops and other capacity-building settings, the guide introduces key concepts related to health information systems, routine health facility indicators, data quality assessment, data triangulation, data visualization, interpretation and evidence-informed decision-making. Through practical exercises, case studies and facilitated discussions, the publication supports participants in applying methods for assessing data completeness and consistency, identifying and investigating data quality issues, comparing information from multiple data sources, and translating findings into programme actions.
