WHO has developed new environmental noise guidelines for the European Region, based on the latest scientific evidence retrieved and assessed using predefined systematic review methodology. This paper includes a description of the methodology used to conduct these systematic evidence reviews. It includes two protocols: one for the systematic review of health effects resulting from environmental noise and one for the systematic review of noise interventions.
