The European Advisory Committee on Health Research (EACHR) held its third formal meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 2–3 May 2013. It reviewed and offered advice on key technical work and the research implications of the agenda for the forthcoming 63rd session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, including the 2012 European health report; Health 2020; the social determinants of health and the health divide; vector-borne diseases; nutrition, physical activity and obesity; health and the environment; mental health; and the WHO Consultative Expert Working Group on Research and Development. It also refined its scope and vision, leading to the creation of an EACHR action plan for 2013–2014.
