Abstract

Description

402 p.
This web annex accompanies the WHO guidelines on mental health at work and provides the evidence profiles and supporting documentation underpinning the guideline recommendations. Developed in accordance with the WHO handbook for guideline development, it presents the systematic evidence reviews, Population–Intervention–Comparison–Outcome (PICO) questions, search strategies, GRADE evidence tables, certainty assessments and summary of findings used to evaluate interventions aimed at promoting mental health in workplace settings. The evidence covers organizational and work-related interventions across formal and informal sectors, including flexible working arrangements, job design, workload management, physical work environment modifications and other workplace strategies, with outcomes related to mental health, quality of life, work performance, absenteeism, suicidal behaviours, substance use and adverse effects. In addition to the evidence profiles, the annex includes supporting evidence informing the guideline development process, including findings from a values and preferences survey, a review of mental health and work in the informal economy, and a qualitative review of implementation issues for workplace mental health interventions. The publication provides the methodological basis and transparency for the recommendations contained in the parent WHO guideline.
