In 2013, as part of a major research project based at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Cambridge, work began to study a collection of artefacts acquired by Paul Denys Montague in New Caledonia in 1914. This book tells the story of how Montague became interested in Kanak culture, the objects he collected and considers their significance for Kanak people today. Translated into French by Lucie Carreau.
