The Joint Coordinating Board (JCB) of the WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases Research (TDR) acts as the Governing Body of the Special Programme and is responsible for its overall policy and strategy. This paper describes the background and composition of the JCB of TDR.The Forty-third Session of the Joint Coordinating Board for TDR (JCB-TDR) was held virtually on 17–18 June 2020.The High-Level Preparatory (HLP) Meeting for Seventy-third Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia made the following recommendations on this Agenda item:Actions by Member States(1) Proactively participate in the meetings of the TDR Joint Coordinating Board and contribute to the report of the meetings.Actions by WHO(1) Support participation of SEA Region Member States in the meetings of the TDR Joint Coordinating Board.(2) Present the final report of the Forty-third Session of the TDR Joint Coordinating Board, held on 17–18 June 2020 in Geneva, to the Seventy-third Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia.This Working Paper and the HLP Meeting recommendation are submitted to the Seventy-third Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia for its consideration.
