The evaluation of health risks to the population is associated with the information on exposures at an appropriate level of aggregation to the various air pollutants. It requires the assessment of their actual concentration levels in the air over time, the number of people exposed, including sensitive groups, and knowledge of the quantitative relationship between exposure and health effects. This means that during the whole process of environmental health impact assessment, the quality, reliability and consistency of the collected information must be maximized. This meeting was dedicated to the specification and harmonization of data collection on ambient air quality to be used in health and environment information systems suitable for health impact assessment
