This report reviews progress made in 2025 to strengthen procurement and supply chain management for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) coordinated by WHO. It outlines the programme’s strategic objectives, operational scope and key achievements in ensuring equitable access to quality-assured medicines and diagnostics through global donation mechanisms, pooled procurement and technical support to endemic countries. The report describes improvements in joint application processes, multi-year forecasting, country-led coordination mechanisms, standardized logistics management information systems, digital integration through DHIS2, governance platforms and WHO prequalification of medicines and diagnostics. It also highlights advances in planning, transparency, accountability and data-driven decision-making to support implementation of the WHO NTD road map 2021–2030. The report examines operational challenges affecting programme implementation, including customs delays, regulatory changes, production constraints, medicine expiry risks, funding disruptions and shortages of trained personnel. It outlines priorities for strengthening national ownership, expanding digital tools, improving workforce capacity, increasing domestic financing, enhancing global coordination and promoting sustainable procurement and supply chain systems. These measures are presented as essential to ensuring timely delivery of essential NTD medicines, reducing supply risks and supporting progress towards the control, elimination and eradication targets established in the WHO NTD road map.
